Press Release
Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival 2019
Gloucester city centre will be alive with the sound of Blues for 9 days starting on Saturday 27th July. It’s not all ‘I Woke Up This Morning’ songs by any means. The Blues covers a wide area of music and seeps over into the world of Rock, Country, Soul and Jazz. There’s a large number of upbeat acts in the mix which include both local musicians and touring acts. All venues hosting music are a short walk from the centre. Grainne Duffy from County Monaghan, Ireland will be on the Greyfriars Stage at Café René. Since appearing at the Food Festival and the Rhythm & Blues Festival both on one day some years ago, Grainne and her band have been touring extensively with concerts in Europe, Thailand, Norway, Canada, and Morocco. Firm Festival favourites Wille And The Bandits, Innes Sibun, Steve Browning, Keith Thompson, The Foregate Blues Band, Oliver Darling, Memphis, and Luke Doherty are in the line up.
